Gospel Systems is a para church 501(c)3 organization that was established in March of 2014 to provide organization and administrative oversight to cooperative efforts between like minded evangelical churches in advancing the gospel of Jesus Christ in difficult places around the world. Gospel Systems has formed strategic relationships with indigenous missionaries in Haiti and South Asia and facilitates programs for training leaders to be pastors and church planters. We establish long-term relationships and partner with them and their churches to be the hands and feet of Jesus in their communities by ministering to the poor and vulnerable.
In simple terms, a delivery system is a means or process for conveying a product or service to a recipient. For Gospel Systems it is a ministry model that integrates our philosophy and core beliefs about how to do global missions with practical tools and processes for advancing the gospel of Jesus Christ around the world. In practical terms, delivery systems look like programs for training pastors and leaders, planting churches, discipling believers and caring for orphans and vulnerable children,
Gospel Systems operates on a volunteer and cooperative basis. We have no offices or paid staff so we have a very low overhead. Partnerships are the heart and soul of Gospel Systems. Like minded evangelical churches and individuals who have a passion for reaching the lost and ministering to the poor and the persecuted partner with Gospel Systems in carrying out our work in Haiti and South Asia.
To be a partner with Gospel Systems means to support our work in three primary ways - 1) by GIVING (making regular contributions to support our work in Haiti and South Asia), 2) by PRAYING (committing to pray regularly for the people of Haiti and South Asia), and 3) by GOING (building relationships by participating in mission trips to conduct leader training, vacation bible schools, service projects and medical clinics).
It's interesting to compare and contrast Haiti and the countries in South Asia. There are certainly some similarities but there are great differences as well. Each country has its unique challenges for gospel ministry but both regions share a common need - a great need for transformation that can only be achieved through the gospel.
Some of our US ministry partners for various reasons are drawn more to one region than the other. Some partners have a passion for advancing the gospel in both. We honor the interests of our partners by allowing them to designate which region they want to fund. We facilitate relationships between them and our indigenous ministry partners so they can know specifically how they can GIVE, PRAY and GO.
Gospel Systems has implemented sound financial policies and procedures to account for every donation and every expenditure. While Gospel Systems has a single set of financial records, separate internal accounts are maintained for The Haiti Collective and South Asia Collective. Our financial records are available to all of our donors. Additionally, as a 501(c)3 organization we file an annual Form 990 return with the IRS which is publicly available.
Furthermore, as a non-profit which grants funds to foreign organizations we are required to maintain adequate audit controls to ensure funds granted to any foreign entity are used for their intended charitable purposes. Gospel Systems has implemented such audit controls with each of our foreign ministry partner organizations.
Gospel Systems' board of directors provides oversight and accountability to the Executive Director who is responsible for executing the vision and mission of the organization and managing the relationships with our indigenous ministry partners. Membership on our board is open to any of our US ministry partners. Multiple of our church partners currently have a representative on our board.
Since the beginning of Gospel Systems, a key draw for virtually all of our US ministry partners has been the opportunity to be directly involved in the "work on the ground" by joining us in conducting in-country leadership training, vacation bible schools, service projects, medical & dental clinics, but more importantly, forming personal relationships with our Christian brothers and sisters there. Sadly, the political unrest and violence that has increasingly ravaged Haiti since 2019 has prevented us from sending teams. The anti-conversion laws and intensifying persecution of Christians in South Asia where we work limits how we can be involved without drawing the attention of those who could and would bring harm to the vital work of the gospel that is being done by the indigenous leaders.
We are fervently praying that God will soon bring peace and stability to Haiti and we long for the day when we can return and be reunited with our brothers and sisters there. Additionally, we continually pray for specific opportunities where small teams from the US can be sent to South Asia to serve with and encourage our brothers and sisters there.
But until then, at least we can GIVE and we can PRAY. We are deeply grateful for our indigenous leaders in both regions and their sacrifice and commitment to the gospel. They are the real missionaries and for now we must be content to be their "cheer leaders".
Gospel Systems holds to The Gospel Coalition Statement of Faith for doctrinal consensus among our partnering churches.
